Meals Coordination

Coordinates volunteers to prepare and serve evening meals for guests staying in the City of Davis winter shelter and provides regular lunches for guests at the Davis Respite Center, offering nutritious meals and opportunities for compassionate connection and engagement.

  • Operates Yolo County’s first safe parking program, providing a safe, legal overnight location for people living in their vehicles, along with hospitality, resource referrals, case management connections, and a pathway toward permanent housing. Learn more: https://heartofdavis.org/safe-heart/
  • Works with the City of Davis, service providers, faith communities, and residents to improve policies, expand shelter and housing options, and strengthen the community’s response to homelessness.
  • Provides emergency financial assistance for temporary motel stays to help meet urgent needs of homeless families with small children and homeless adults who are medically vulnerable.
